What is Bitnami?
Bitnami is a grate application environment that allows you to install over 130 different open source software, including WordPress on a server. But when you install any application on Bitnami a Benner appears on the right corner and that is very frustrating.
In this step-by-step guide, I will show you how to remove the Bitnami Banner from WordPress.
How to Remove Bitnami Banner?
Follow these following steps to remove the Bitnami Banner from your WordPress Blog or Website.
- Log in to your server and access SSH(Secure Shell).
- Execute the following command.
- Restart the Web Server.
Step 1: Log in to your server and access SSH(Secure Shell)
For me, I am running my server on the google cloud platform. But these steps will work in any server own by any platform.
So login to your server and access SSH
Step 2: Execute the following command
After you log in to your server, execute the following command to the Secure Shell(SSH).
sudo /opt/bitnami/apps/wordpress/bnconfig --disable_banner 1
Step 3: Restart the Web Server
After you execute the above command to the Secure Shell(SSH), restart the Web Server.
If your server runs on Apache, use the following command to restart it.
sudo /opt/bitnami/ctlscript.sh restart apache
If your server runs on NGINX, use the following command to restart it.
sudo /opt/bitnami/ctlscript.sh restart nginx
You have successfully removed the Bitnami banner that appeared in the bottom right corner on your WordPress site.
